Richardson on Top Form!
www.malcolmrathmellsport.com
MRS Sherco rider Jonathan Richardson got of to a brilliant start at the first round of the World Championship last weekend, 1st and 2nd April, at Dondonald Park, Newcastle, Northern Ireland.
The event was an extremely difficult and long course, which really taxed the riders abilities with fifteen very high standard sections. Richardson stamped his authority on the opening day, winning by a strong 10 marks from the Spanish SPEA Tarres Gas Gas Team Rider Pere Borrellas. On the second day Richardson was faced with different opposition in the form of French Gas Gas FFM rider Tanguy Mottin but still pulled off an incredible win with a six mark advantage. This now gives Sherco-mounted Jonathan Richardson a healthy lead at the top of the championship tables as he heads to the next round in Portugal.
Richardson has worked hard all winter and followed the programme set down by the Rathmells' and has stuck to it religiously. He is a young rider and fully committed to achieving his dreams, with a realistic attitude to what is necessary to reach the top. Sherco and MRS are looking forward to working with Richardson over the coming years to help him achieve his goals.
We would like to say a very big thank you to Josep Paxau who prepared a special 125 for Jonathan, Mike Smith from MIAL Coachbuilders who not only sponsors the young Richmond rider but actively comes to events to support and help him. Lastly a very big thanks to all the staff at the Quality Living Gym at the Scotch Corner Hotel who have given Jonathan such valuable training throughout the winter.
